Introducing:
The F.Light Series

It’s that time of year.

The days are longer and the temperature is getting a bit higher, Spring has well and truly sprung.

We’re a bit late with our Spring/Summer tops – naturally this is due to the current situation around the world but we’re pretty much set to go now (and very happy we were able to do so in the safest possible way, ensuring everyone involved in the process has been looked after properly).

So without further ado, let us introduce to you the Commen Athletics F.LIGHT tees & vests.

The Aim of the Game

As always, the goal when we began designing these tops was to create something that makes you happy when you put it on. Something new, fresh, and with the Commen Athletics funk.

As well as this, we wanted to make something built for speed – whether you’re looking for a new 100m PB or traversing the mountains in a multi-day ultra, we wanted these tops to be able to stand up to what you can throw at them. We’re pretty confident we’ve done just that.

New Fabrics

It took months of searching but it was love at first sight. As soon as we saw our new super-lightweight, technical mesh fabric, we were head over heels, delete our dating apps, share a Netflix account, in love.

As you can imagine, we had high hopes for this fabric on first inspection, but we didn’t skimp on the testing. Once we got some samples made up, we got running. Running everything from 60-yard dashes to ultra-marathons in the fabric (totalling over 800 miles and several PB’s) before our suspicions were confirmed. This was the one for our F.Light series.

It’s got everything you could want from a running top, it’s light, breathable, moisture wicking, durable, and oh so comfortable.

New Stitching

We’ve created the F.Light tees with a raglan sleeve (that’s a sleeve that runs over the shoulder and stitches at the neck, rather than being stitched under & around the shoulder). The sleeve style was originally created for Fitzroy Somerset, the 1st Lord of Raglan so he could swing his sword round easier in battle (it sounds like we made it up, but it’s on Wikipedia and everything).

We’ve adopted it here to allow a more comfortable arm movement when you’re in that final stretch and looking to kick. Also it allows a much more free flowing movement when you’re high fiving people at the finish line when we’re all back racing.

Not to mention if you ever find yourself in a sword battle, it’s sure to pay dividends.

Along with this, we’ve used a flatlock stitch on the sleeves and the side panels of both the tees and vests, to ensure minimal chafing and maximum comfort. On the shoulders of our vests, we have used a minimal interference stitch for superior comfort as well.

New Fit

We’ve gone for a regular fit for the F.Light series, compared to the slim fit of our initial collection.

It’s risky business messing with sizes and fit, but one of the bits of feedback we’ve received from you lot is that our run tops could have a bit more give. Well, ask and you shall receive! We went back to the drawing board to create a fit more universal, ensuring that performance, comfort and look were not compromised.

It’s not a major change, but things are a bit more true to size now – if you were on the cusp of two sizes when ordering one of our other run tops, we’d say you can safely order the smaller of the two. Of course, if you would like to change sizes after you’ve received your new top, we can do an exchange for you no problem!
